BBB Complaints

Tax Masters Responds to BBB Complaints

While it is Tax Masters policy to not respond to posts we see on complaints boards, we take Better Business Bureau (BBB) complaints seriously and we respond to them all, usually reaching fair resolutions in a reasonable amount of time. Tax Masters has responded to all the complaints listed by the BBB, though we have not been able to resolve them all.  Some unresolved complaints include topics such as the music on our commercials and the sound of Patrick Cox’s voice, but we even respond to those.

Non-Accredited Businesses

While we respond to all BBB complaints, we are not members and declined membership when it was initially offered to us by the BBB. As a point of interest, you might be surprised to know that many large businesses you likely do business with every day don’t have a BBB accreditation, including Eastman Kodak, PepsiCo, Sun Microsystems, General Motors Corporation, Allstate Insurance, Costco Wholesale, Blue Bell Creameries (ice cream), Minolta, Gap Inc., McDonald’s Restaurants, Bed Bath & Beyond, Schwinn Bicycle Company, and even Spago (world famous Beverly Hills restaurant).

Tax Masters Protects Consumers with Business Model, Boosts Client Satisfaction Rating

The value and reliability we offer are perhaps better illustrated by the fact that Tax Masters adopted a business model, recently discussed at MSN.com, in October 2010 that promises to put all clients into compliance with the IRS before advising them on which tax settlement plan might be right for their specific tax problem. This change has boosted consumer confidence and TaxMasters’ overall client satisfaction rating dramatically. While we take issue with the way the local Houston chapter has handled some of the Tax Masters BBB complaints, our goal remains a 100% client satisfaction rating. Because we know 100% customer satisfaction is statistically impossible, we have a dedicated Quality Assurance team focused on ensuring that we are open and honest with potential clients during the complete process and thorough in handling each client’s case. Should a client have a complaint about our services, the Quality Assurance team acts as the customer advocate in logging that complaint with us.

How to Best Utilize the Better Business Bureau

As encouraged by the BBB itself, please take into account the size of a business and the volume of transactions when considering complaint information. Understand that the BBB does not endorse any product, service, or business. The BBB also includes a disclaimer in their reports stating that the information in their online Reliability Report is not guaranteed to be accurate and up to date. In other words, they are saying their Reliability Report is not, after all, reliable.

BBB Errata

We would like to respectfully point out some erroneous information on the Tax Masters Better Business Bureau online page. Tax Masters refund policy is to provide full or partial refunds based on the amount of work completed at the time we receive a written cancellation of services from the client. The BBB site also discusses a non-refundable $500 fee. While we’re not certain exactly what this refers to, we charge a fee for each requested service when a customer engages us to help them resolve their IRS tax problem. As bound by the contract, Tax Masters performs the work agreed to and the client pays the associated fees. This is a contractual agreement entered into by both parties designed to protect both parties.
